PharmQuest’s Product Development Management System (PDMS™) forms the backbone for PharmQuest’s proprietary applications, as well as third-party software, both generic software modules and specialized scientific applications. PDMS™ is a customized web-based management system that enables scientists to share and manage information across the enterprise, and provides access to private and public knowledge bases. PDMS™ ensures regulatory compliance while instituting planned workflows. These facilitate early identification of failures in order to redirect scientists’ time and energy to more promising products.

PDMS™ technology
PharmQuest’s PDMS™ technology includes several components - a flexible, configurable workflow engine, a Java gateway for third-party applications, and the DrugSmarts™ expert systems engine. PDMS™ currently employs a three-tier software architecture. The front-end
supports thin-client HTML, JavaScript and JSP. The middleware is in 100% Java, enabling the software to be run on any Java-supporting hardware platform. The back-end is JDBC compliant, and has been tested with Oracle 8i at customer sites. The APIs (Application
Programming Interfaces) for integration of external applications are designed using XML and J2EE.

The PDMS family of products include CMC Workbench, Process Map™, AIMS™, LyoSmarts™, and TabSmarts™.
