ToxConnect™ is a software system that will enable pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to export toxicology data from data warehouses into SEND format. This data will then be submitted to the FDA as part of their new drug applications.

Various components of ToxConnect™ include:

• Resource Adapter
  Resource Adapter is a software component that allows the SEND Formatter to read data from a particular data source.
• SEND Formatter
  This component formats the data in SEND format and creates a package that is ready for validation.
• Validator
  A SEND package is validated before it is ready for submission. This step ensures that the data package conforms to the SEND standard. This component will be the same as the one that will be used by the FDA to validate all SEND formatted data.
